DAY 1 : Marrakech - High Atlas - Ouarzazate

The 5-day Marrakech to Fes desert journey begins with an early pick-up from the airport or your Marrakech accommodations. Then, drive across the magnificent High Atlas Mountains and the Tzi-N-Tichka pass. Stops will be made for panoramic views of the stunning scenery. Then we visit Telouts Kasbah.

Following that, we will visit the famed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou—a fortified settlement designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has appeared in movies such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy. In addition, there are television shows such as Game of Thrones. Then we travel to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert”. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

DAY 2 : Ouarzazate - Skoura - Dades valley

After breakfast, we tour Ouarzazate. First, we visit the Atlas Studios, where many famous films have been shot, and the Taourirt Kasbah, a fortified mud fortress and one of Morocco’s most ancient and impressive Ksars. After that, we drive east to Amridil Kasbah in Skoura, bordered by palm trees. Then continue to Kalaa Magouna, which is noted for its Rose Valley. An annual Rose Festival is held in May, where residents sell their rose items such as fragrances, rose water, oil, and cosmetics. Then we drive to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades. Unavoidable pauses include the “monkey fingers” rock sculpture and a vantage point on a mountain overlooking the Dades Valley. Dinner and stay at a hotel in Boumalne.

DAY 3 :Dades Valley - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Dades gorges. Then we continue to Todra Gorges, where the passage of the Todra River has cut out a spectacular canyon through the mountains, resulting in a steep red cliff-side gorge. Free time for lunch. Feel free to roam through the gorges and enjoy the scenery.

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. You switch to camels to cross the desert. A pause will be made for you to admire the spectacular sunset from the top of a high dune. Then go to the desert luxury camp, where you may listen to Berber drum music while dancing around the campfire beneath the huge open sky of stars. Dinner and breakfast at camp

DAY 4 : Merzouga Desert - Nomad Family - Khamlia village

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the lovely sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then you ride camels back to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. We dedicate the day to exploring the Merzouga region. The area contains numerous magnificent sights, fossil locations, and a fabulous oasis. Which are perfect locations for a variety of outdoor sports.

First, we begin our excursion in Merzouga by driving off-road to an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we pay the nomads a visit in their hand-woven tent. Drink Berber tea and learn about their way of life. Our next stop is Khamlia village, where you may enjoy Gnaoua music and dance performances. Its residents are from sub-Saharan African nations such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Free time for lunch at a restaurant. Following that, we take a stroll through a palm tree grove. Then drive a few Kilometers to visit the wild lake of Merzouga, commonly known as Flamingo Lake. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.

DAY 5: Merzouga - Erfoud - Midelt - Ifrane - Fes

On the last day of your 5-day Marrakech to Fes desert excursion. You get up early to enjoy the sunrise at the hotel. After breakfast. Then we leave the desert to explore Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani, remains an important trading center in the region, with a thriving souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After a tour around Rissani souk, we continue to Erfoud and visit one of the fossilized marble workshops.

Following that, we drive alongside the Ziz River and break to take in the extensive outlook of the Ziz Valley. Lunch break in Midelt. Next, we drive to the Cedars Forest, home of the Barbary Macaques. While exploring the timer, feel free to give them food. Later, we travel to Ifrane, which is famed for its frigid temperatures, snowfall, and lodge-style homes no surprise it’s dubbed the Switzerland of Morocco.
